Preschool 2 ½ & 3 Year Olds

Bible classes consist of stories from the Old and New Testament, learning about Jesus and God's Word as a part of daily living, and learning how to worship God through song and prayer. Students also have Bible memory verses.

Reading and Writing readiness is by identification of colors and shapes, teaching letter names and sound, instruction in letter formation, holding writing instruments correctly, and tracing activities.

Math readiness skills instruction includes counting objects 1-10, recognizing numbers 1-10, instruction in "how many" and "more" and "less."

Language development is important, as students are instructed to speak clearly and given time to express their ideas fluently. Students are encouraged to speak in full sentences.

Social development focuses on sharing and taking turns, independent and group play, and incorporation of kindness and manners.

Preschool 4 Year Olds

Bible classes focuses on character trait instruction using Old and New Testament stories. The ABC's of Salvation is also taught. Students have Bible memory verses.

Reading readiness reinforces visual recognition of letters and the relationship of sounds to letters. Blending sounds using phonics is taught, and the students grow in understanding the relationship of blending sounds to forming words as they learn decoding words (sounding them out).

Math readiness skills instruction includes recognizing, understanding, and writing numbers 1-20. Students grow in their number sense and one to one correspondence. Students also grow in their ability to recognize shapes.

Language development instruction focuses on speaking clearly, expressing ideas fluently, and using full sentences.

Other areas include listening skills (following directions and attention span development), readiness skills (proper pencil grip, scissor usage, following directions, and coloring in the lines), and social development (sharing and taking turns, playing independently, participating in a group, and developing kindness and good manners).
